The despatch advice. It announces in advance that goods are on their way and which products sit on which pallets.
Who sends it
Sent by the supplier when the goods are despatched.
The real strength of DESADV is that it carries the packing hierarchy: CPS segments establish the pallet-to-carton relationship and GIN segments give each pallet its SSCC barcode.
Because the warehouse receives this before the goods arrive, it can prepare the receipt; when the pallet barcode is scanned its contents are already known. This shortens goods-in dramatically and makes comparison against the RECADV possible.
