Privacy Policy
Your EDI files never leave your device. Nothing you open, edit or export is uploaded to us. All processing happens inside your browser — we do not operate a server that could receive your files in the first place.
This policy explains what data is processed by the service at ediviewer.net, a browser-based application for viewing and editing EDIFACT and ANSI X12 documents and exporting them to PDF or Excel.
1. Your files and their contents
The application runs entirely on the client side. EDI files you open are held only in your browser's memory; parsing, PDF generation and CSV export all happen on your device. File contents are never transmitted over the network, are never visible to us, and are never stored by us.
The "Save" function uses your browser's file system access capability to write directly to the location you choose. That data does not pass through us either.
2. What is stored on your device
Your preferences are kept in your browser's local storage
(localStorage). They are never sent to a server and remain on your
device:
| Entry | Purpose |
|---|---|
selectedAppTheme | Light/dark theme preference |
selectedLanguageCode | Interface language |
company_logo_png | Company logo you uploaded |
cookieConsent | Your cookie choice (accepted/declined) |
You can remove all of these at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
3. Cookies and measurement
The site uses Google Analytics for visitor statistics and Google AdSense for advertising. These services may set cookies.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the consent prompt is presented by Google's certified consent management platform (CMP). Until you make a choice, analytics and advertising cookies are denied by default (Google Consent Mode), so nothing is stored for those purposes unless you allow it. You can change your choice at any time from the same consent screen.
For visits from outside those regions, cookies are used in line with local law. Wherever you are, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Every feature of the application works fully even if cookies are refused. Opening, editing and exporting files to PDF or Excel does not depend on any cookie.
4. Hosting and infrastructure
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages and delivered through Cloudflare. To provide the service and prevent abuse, these providers may process technical data such as IP addresses and browser information in their server logs. We have no access to those logs and do not retain them separately.
5. Third parties
If you consent, some of your data is processed by the following providers:
- Google Analytics and Google AdSense — Google Privacy Policy
- You can manage ad personalisation through Google Ad Settings.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR (and Turkey's KVKK) you have the right to access the data processed about you, to request its correction or deletion, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent you have given. Because we never collect your file contents, there is no record of your documents for us to delete.
7. Children's privacy
The service is a professional tool for commercial document exchange. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
8. Changes
This policy may be updated. Any changes will be published on this page and the "last updated" date above will be revised.
